Gerhard Meyer is a South African author publishing his first science fiction novel, after having completed a free-verse poetry book called “Wednesdays Child – One man’s Life”, available at Amazon.com. It is the successful completion of the poetry book that finally gave him the courage to tackle a science fiction story he had been carrying around in his head for quite some time. Even so, writing a novel is something very different to a poetry book, and this book took two years to complete. I was a small boy in 1969 when Apollo 11 lifted off for the moon, listening on radio, no television yet in South Africa, a boy in khaki shorts and bare feet, glued to every single word on AM radio. An explorer, and a dream was born that day. He is still one today, 49 years later, and Neil Armstrong is still his only hero.
