What is Renal Diet?
A renal diet is a very strict, low-protein diet that many people with kidney disease must follow. It is also called a low-protein diet or the "low potassium" diet. This type of food plan includes at least three servings of breads and cereals, five servings of vegetables, two fruits, two to four servings of dairy products, and three to six small portions per day.
Benefits of Renal Diet?
The benefits of a renal diet are different for each person. Some people have to follow this type of diet because their bodies cannot properly handle certain foods. For example, some foods can make kidney disease worse or cause other health problems. Others may have to follow it so they dont waste away from lack of protein in their diet.
